Winner of the Cultural Diversity prize in 2015-2016, Gotta Lago, artist from Côte d'Ivoire embodies the richness, beauty and the warmth of Africa, its traditions and cultural diversity. Always wearing a Pan-Africain patterned scarf, he crosses Montreal's cultural diversity. The artist of many talents: guitarist, pianist, percussionist, exceptional singer, but also an actor and storyteller, founded in 2004 the Gotta Lago Project distinguished itself by its powerful and contagious onstage energy worthy of large African village celebrations. He's implicated in all projects or almost: Arometis with 17 musicians and the Symphony of the New World with Luc Boivin in 2012. In 2014, he released his solo album "Carnets de route-Soweto Marrakech", a musical journey which originates in South Africa and ends on the shores of the Morocco. Steeped in talent, winner of 4 grants between 2010 and 2015, 3 of the Council of Canada (ACC) and of the Council of the Arts and Lettres of Québec (CALQ), he's also the "Coup de Coeur of the Francofolies" in 2012. Guest of the 30th edition of the Nuits d'Afrique, this Ambassador of African music travels through Canada and the world's musical scenes: Nuits d'Afrique, Francofolies, Festival de jazz de Montréal, Morocco, to list a few.
